For groundbreaking collaborative research projects

Shaping the future
together

Make a gift

As a leading international academic institution at the cutting edge of health sciences and technology, the aim of the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) is to create the foundations for sustaining and improving the quality of life for people into old age. The D-HEST accelerates the transfer of knowledge and technology in clinics, industry and society, and educates a new generation of students at the interface of science, technology, and medicine.

Our goal

The James Mitchell award honors an early career researcher who has fostered a groundbreaking collaborative research project in the fields of aging research, nutrition, metabolism, or related areas of health sciences.

The annual prize is given in remembrance of the late Professor James R. Mitchell (1971 – 2020), a pioneer in the healthy aging field, who conducted research at both Harvard University and ETH Zurich.
