BKW has made a generous donation in support of the Centre for Students and Entrepreneurs. At the planned innovation centre for students and ETH Zurich’s entrepreneurial community at the Hönggerberg campus, up-and-coming talents will be able to gain extracurricular experience, expand their networks and advance their technological solutions.

Gaining the support of the energy and infrastructure company BKW is an important step towards bringing the project to fruition, and in doing so, fostering creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit at ETH. The vision of the Centre is to create a place where students and ETH Zurich’s entrepreneurial community can come together to work on innovative projects, network beyond the boundaries of their own disciplines and even expand on and develop their own business concepts.

Robert Itschner, CEO of BKW, says: “The ambitions of the Centre for Students and Entrepreneurs align with BKW’s core values: entrepreneurial, collaborative, trailblazing. By contributing to the project, we want to support people in the STEM sector and help them to develop creative solutions to the challenges facing our society both now and in the future.”

“This new building has the potential to develop into a creative and entrepreneurial hotspot both for ETH itself and for Zurich as a wider hub for innovation,” adds ETH President Joël Mesot. “We would like to sincerely thank BKW for its donation to the planned centre.”

Further partnerships and the support of numerous private individuals have already driven the financing of the project forward, but ETH still needs to secure additional partnerships and donations to get the Centre for Students and Entrepreneurs ready for action.
