On 1 November, Pedro Beltrao, Professor of Computational Systems Biology, gave his inaugural lecture at ETH Zurich. It was entitled “Human trait variation – from protein structures to the organism”. Pedro Beltrao’s research focuses on the cellular consequences of genetic variation and its impact on health and disease. He received an ERC Starting Grant in 2015 and is considered one of the leading researchers in his field. His professorship is supported by the Helmut Horten Stiftung.
