Rapid detection of antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic-resistant pathogens pose a growing threat due to excessive prescriptions. This is particularly critical for sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea, which is now treatable with only one remaining effective medication. There is a demand for quick, reliable, and accessible diagnostic tests like those developed by Carolina Paganini and Jacob Lesinski.

The founders of Checktor Biosciences are developing a diagnostic test for infections such as gonorrhea that can detect associated resistances within ten minutes. Their cost-effective solution allows for more targeted patient treatment and avoids unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions.
