UP4mint: Empowering parents to spark children’s passion for STEM
Building future-ready skills, widening horizons, nurturing potential
Curiosity for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) takes root well beyond the walls of classrooms or lecture halls. It begins at home – through shared moments of discovery, experimentation, questioning and wonder. Parents play a crucial role in shaping their children’s educational and career choices. Yet many families lack confidence and easy access to STEM-related topics.
Our goal
UP4mint is an information platform for parents and caregivers of children aged 8 to 12. It offers accessible, engaging insights into why STEMplus skills are so vital for the future and how they come into play in everyday life. STEMplus goes far beyond subject knowledge: these competencies help children understand, shape, and solve real-world challenges. The platform brings together content from renowned organisations in education, civil society, and industry, complemented by contributions from independent experts.
The aim of UP4mint is clear: to raise parents’ awareness of the importance of STEMplus skills so that children – regardless of gender or background – can explore their interests and realise their full potential.
UP4mint is a project developed through the strategic partnership between ETH Zurich and UBS.
