Ultra-flexible brain implants for neurological health

One in eight people suffers from neurological disorders such as epilepsy, depression, or dementia. While milder cases can be treated with medication, severe conditions often require invasive medical implants. Pioneer Fellow Tansel Baran Yasar, with Aeternus Neurotechnologies, developed ultra-flexible brain implants for long-term interfacing with individual cells in the brain. These implants, minimally invasively placed in different brain regions, provide a high-resolution, stable interface between brain and machine to improve patients’ quality of life.
