Better sleep through precise pupil signals
Sleep problems affect millions of people worldwide, yet the early warning signs originate deep in the brain and are difficult to measure at home. Modern research shows that the human pupil is a reliable marker for deep brain activity.
This is where Pioneer Fellow Manuel Carro Dominguez comes in: with Biomasker, he is developing a sleep mask that can measure brain signals in real time and use smart audio feedback to guide users toward more stable sleep. This enables early detection of changes in sleep patterns and provides the first indications of potential sleep disorders.
During the Pioneer Fellowship, Manuel Carro Dominguez will continue to refine the sleep mask in order to develop a scientifically grounded tool that helps people achieve healthier sleep.
