Removing CO₂ with sunlight
To effectively combat the impact of climate change, it is not enough to reduce emissions – we must also remove CO₂ already present in the atmosphere. This is precisely where Pioneer Fellow Anna de Vries comes in. She has developed a novel method that captures CO₂ directly from the air or industrial emissions, using sunlight as the driving force. At the heart of the technology is a specially developed chemical solution that makes the process stable, energy-efficient, and scalable.
With the support of the Pioneer Fellowship, Anna de Vries is now working to bring this innovation from the lab into industrial application, enabling cost-effective, large-scale CO₂ removal.
