Suzanne Thoma strengthens the Board of Trustees

Suzanne Thoma was elected to the ETH Foundation’s Board of Trustees at the Board meeting on 29 October 2024. She has been Chair of the Board of Directors and CEO of the industrial engineering and manufacturing firm Sulzer since 2022; she joined its Board of Directors in 2021. Before joining Sulzer, Suzanne Thoma was CEO of the international energy, engineering and service company BKW AG in Bern from 2013 to 2022.

Prior to her appointment as CEO, she was a member of the BKW Group Executive Board and responsible for the Networks division. Suzanne Thoma studied chemical engineering at ETH Zurich and completed her doctorate in 1989. She is an Honorary Councillor of ETH and Vice-Chair of the think tank Avenir Suisse.
