Whether it is used to introduce urgently needed measures, to provide immediate support for students in the form of additional scholarships, the development of equipment for the health sector or to fund medium to long-term scientific efforts, the ETH management will ensure that money from the Corona Impulse Fund is released quickly and without undue red tape, and is focused where it is needed most and will have the greatest impact.
Together, we will not only overcome this current crisis but also strengthen our resilience to any future pandemics.
Your support enables
- Additional funds for any ETH scholarships and employments that have had to be extended as a result of the current situation; e.g. where students have had to discontinue lab work for their Master’s thesis;
- Rapid implementation of research projects related to the coronavirus: e.g., a serological study in which the immune status of several thousand test persons is repeatedly analysed over the course of a year in order to gain insights into the spread of the infection and the extent of immune protection;
- Support for the rapid development of materials and engineering solutions for health care. For example, face masks and pumps are manufactured in ETH workshops equipped with 3D printing devices and laser cutters.

“We are all taking unprecedented actions as part of our collective effort to break the chain of transition of COVID-19, and to be present for those who need our intellectual and emotional support. It is a journey that starts now, during which we will grow, support each other, and in the end, be a stronger community. Let’s start – togETHer."Joël Mesot
