Search, inspection and surveillance missions in all waters

Seas, lakes and rivers present a difficult and sometimes even dangerous environment for search, inspection and surveillance work due to unclear visual conditions.

With Tethys Robotics, two Pioneer Fellows, Jonas Wuest and Pragash Sivananthaguru, are expanding the latest aircraft navigation research to include underwater areas. They are developing a small and light underwater drone, which uses special acoustic sensors to navigate easily in murky, unclear waters. This will enable, for example, search and rescue missions to be carried out in strong currents.
