New approach to cancer diagnostics
Cancer is one of the most common causes of death worldwide. The disease is often detected too late because the examination methods used in clinical practice are outdated. Conventional clinical procedures usually produce 2D images after a biopsy, which only show limited information and cannot provide a comprehensive picture of the diseased tissue.
IMAI has developed an interdisciplinary approach combining biomedicine and mechanical engineering technologies. It offers doctors a fast and automated method for detecting diseased tissue using a digital 3D image. The aim is to detect cancer more reliably and more quickly.
