Hand-Held Electrochemical Lateral Flow Assay

The lateral flow assay (i.e. used in the pregnancy test and many other biomarker tests) is the most successful hand-held biosensor, but it lacks a quantitative readout mechanism. Alexander Tanno invented a new, electrochemical readout technology for the lateral flow assay. It currently represents the cheapest way to make the lateral flow assay quantitative and sensitive, enabling clinically relevant hand-held blood diagnostics at home or on the go.
